You just got your car detailed—now what? Learn the proper techniques to maintain that flawless finish safely.
Getting your car professionally detailed is an amazing feeling, but how you care for it afterward determines how long those results will last. Improper washing techniques are the number one cause of swirl marks and premature failure of waxes and ceramic coatings.
A proper maintenance wash starts with the two-bucket method. One bucket holds your soapy water, and the other holds clean water for rinsing your wash mitt. This ensures you aren't dragging dirt back across the paint. You should also use a grit guard at the bottom of the buckets to trap heavy particles.
Always wash from the top down, as the lower panels are the dirtiest, and use a dedicated microfiber towel or air blower for drying. Never use a bath towel or a water blade. If you don't have the time or equipment to do this safely, Refine offers discounted bi-weekly and monthly maintenance plans exclusively for our detailing clients.
